If you’re feeling excited and uncertain all at once, you’re not alone. Preparing for birth and early parenthood brings big emotions, big questions, and big hopes.
My name is Lexi, and I’m the doula behind Golden Hour Birth Services. I serve families in the greater Kansas City metro, Lawrence, & Topeka with steady, personalized support during birth and the early weeks of postpartum.
I’ve been in maternity care work for over nine years — supporting families through pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and the early postpartum season. I’ve seen firsthand how continuous, informed support can help parents feel more confident, less overwhelmed, and truly cared for.
Before becoming a doula, I learned through experience — both personal and professional — what it feels like to walk into birth not knowing what’s coming, and how much difference thoughtful support can make. My approach is calm, practical, and full of respect for your unique needs and preferences.
I believe:
- every family deserves steady, informed support
- your questions MATTER
- your preferences should be heard and honored
- your experience should feel like yours, not everyone else’s
When we work together, you can expect clear communication, hands-on guidance, and a steady presence — without pressure or judgment.
The Golden Hour is one of my favorite parts of birth. It’s the moment you finally meet your baby—becoming absorbed in every tiny detail and feeling the warmth of their skin against your chest. The moments following my own births have left fingerprints on my life, woven into my DNA. They’ve become a part of who I am.
My relationship with Christ, a faith lovingly instilled in me by my parents, is another piece of myself that I carry into every birth I serve. My maiden name, Golden, holds deep meaning for me—rooted in that faith and in the sacredness I see in birth. Together, they inspired the name Golden Hour Birth Services, where two of the most meaningful parts of my life come together.
Outside of doula work, you’ll probably find me hanging out with my 2 sweet kiddos, my husband, and probably cheering on local KC sports teams — small things that help keep life grounded and joyful.
